As discussed in Chapter 5, one of the key obstacles to transacademic work is that people interact with others for a variety of reasons while taking for granted that the interaction is driven by common interests. By assuming the opposite, that those involved in the project have differing understanding of the reasons to interact with society, you will not only be able to avoid some difficult pitfalls, you will be able to use this fact to help you conduct exciting research. Make a point of, from time to time throughout the work, raising Questions 4 and 5 with your supervisor, committee members and other people you collaborate with.
Analyses of pure water at any laboratory should give the same result.
