In addition, seven countries—including India, Japan, New Zealand, and the United States—are very heavily dependent on oil imports, which amount to at least 4 0 % of total consumption. Most of the countries heavily dependent on oil have various amounts of petroleum reserves and potential resources, with many of the countries having zero or minor reserves (see Table 2).
